Crossfield Construction were selected as main contractor for the Children and Young People's Pavillion project at Woodlands Hospice, Aintree.
Woodlands is close to the hearts of many of us at Crossfield and we have a close partnership with the hospice, having carried out various fundraising initiatives for this worthy cause. This project gave us the opportunity to provide an extremely significant facility at a reduced price, by creating savings which allowed the hospice to spend their funding on other necessary items.
A selection of children and young people connected to the Hospice were involved in the design of the build and chose the furnishings for the space, including a mural for the main wall within the building and a brick built planter to house a time capsule containing personal items. The now completed external pavilion is used as a valuable space for children who access the family support services at Woodlands and have family being cared for at the hospice.
“Whilst this is a small building it is a very important facility for the children and young people. To have their own space in an adult Hospice is so important to them. We would like to thank all those who have contributed funding towards the pavilion making this project possible.”
