The works on this project comprise of the part demolition of existing classrooms, new extensions and internal remodelling to classrooms and administration areas.

The works were programmed to fit around school operations in that the demolition and refurbishment was carried out during the school holidays where there were no pupils or staff in close vicinity.  The new build works commenced once the school was operational, but allowed us to clearly segregate our site from the live school environment.

Stakeholder engagement throughout the project was key to its success.  During the pre-construction stage, we worked collaboratively with the school and design team to finalise the design and create significant savings as the project was initially over budget.  We ensured the client got the desired quality on the scheme, within their tight budget.

Working closely with the school with regards to added value engagement was also integral to the schemes success.  We attended parents evening, carried out school assemblies to educate the pupils on health and safety; had a viewing platform for the pupils to keep an eye on site progress; supported the school in raising the profile of the construction works.

“Thanks for your support with engaging our community – it means a great deal.”
“Staff, pupils and parents really enjoyed your assembly, and it got all key messages across.”
