We have partnered with Registered Social Landlord, Onward Homes, to create 28 high quality affordable homes in Prenton on the Wirral.

The project complements Wirral Borough Council’s strategy to build more homes on the peninsula – helping to not only provide much needed housing but also drive economic growth and create jobs.

Groundbreaking on the £2.8m Prenton Dell scheme took place in July 2019. Each of the 28 two-bedroom apartments will have its own dedicated parking space and seven have been designed to meet the needs of the elderly and people with mobility issues, with level access throughout and walk-in shower facilities.

Wirral-based architects Paddock Johnson Partnership designed the scheme. Their plans ensure the new building fits in with the local street scene: maintaining the existing building line and matching the height of the adjacent buildings.

The scheme is one of four that we are delivering in partnership with Onward. Together they will bring 65 affordable homes to the market across the North West, in a project worth a total of £6.2m.

The construction work is being carried out by Crossfield Living, a division of Crossfield Group that specialises in building high quality homes for both the public and private sectors.

As part of our commitment to being a good neighbor, and as members of the Considerate Constructors scheme, we are committed to creating wider benefits for the Prenton community.

We have worked closely with local schools and colleges: inviting pupils from Birkenhead Sixth Form College to learn more about the world of construction through work experience at the site, and educating children at nearby Prenton Primary School about the importance of keeping themselves safe by staying away from building sites.

The development is due for completion in Autumn 2020.
